Description: Innovative online marketing has been a hallmark of UNICEF’s fundraising efforts. The multiple projects featured here include, among others, “Swat Team”, an online game for malaria awareness in which users are encouraged to “swat” virtual mosquitoes and a campaign for “Global Parents”, UNICEF’s regular giving program. A highly successful digital campaign for Mother’s Day encouraged people to buy a “gift” for a mother in the developing world – eg. a mosquito net or drugs designed to stop the transfer, via breast milk, of HIV from mother to baby – on behalf of their own mother.
